Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Frosting
Ingredients:
For the cake:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¾ cup unsalted butter (softened)
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 cup milk
For the chocolate frosting:
1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
3 ½ cups powdered sugar
½ cup cocoa powder
½ tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla extract
¼ cup milk (more if needed)

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
4. Add dry mixture alternately with milk, mixing until smooth.
5. Divide batter between pans and bake 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
6. For frosting, beat butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, cocoa, salt, vanilla, and milk, beating until fluffy.
7. Spread frosting between cake layers, then cover top and sides.
