Fresh Peach Cake

 



Ingredients:


1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened


1 cup granulated sugar


2 large eggs


1 tsp vanilla extract


1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour


1 1/2 tsp baking powder


1/4 tsp salt


1/2 cup milk


3–4 fresh peaches, sliced thin


2 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for sprinkling)


Powdered sugar (for dusting)



Instructions:


1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round 9-inch cake pan or tart pan.



2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.



3. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.



4. Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture alternately with milk, mixing until smooth.



5. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.



6. Arrange peach slices decoratively on top of the batter. Sprinkle with brown sugar if desired.



7. Bake 40–45 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.



8. Cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm or at room temperature.
