Garlic Shrimp and Broccoli
Ingredients
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 cups broccoli florets
3 tbsp olive oil (or butter)
4 garlic cloves, minced
¼ cup chicken broth (or water)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for richer flavor)
1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions
1. Prepare broccoli: Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 2–3 minutes until bright green, then drain and set aside.
2. Cook shrimp: Heat 2 tbsp oil in a skillet, season shrimp with salt and pepper, and sauté 2–3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
3. Make sauce: In the same skillet, add remaining oil, sauté garlic until fragrant (30 seconds). Stir in chicken broth, soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Bring to a simmer.
4. Thicken sauce: Add cornstarch slurry, stir until slightly thickened.
5. Combine: Return shrimp and broccoli to the skillet, toss well to coat in sauce.
6. Finish & serve: Adjust seasoning, add red pepper flakes if desired, and serve hot with rice or noodles.
